Españolas, D. José Carlos Gómez Villamandos, con el título «Hacia una docencia mixta», en el que explica los distintos escenarios que barajan las universidades de cara al comienzo del próximo curso académico 2020-2021. «No queremos renunciar a la docencia presencial porque es seña de identidad de nuestra enseñanza universitaria y vamos a hacer todo lo posible para preservarla», subraya el presidente de Crue, que no descarta «una docencia mixta o de presencialidad adaptada», en el caso de no poder realizarse una docencia cien por cien presencial. Advierte de que este sistema mixto ofrece a las universidades una «oportunidad adicional de mejora en la calidad docente, combinando lo mejor de ambos modelos», que, según apunta, dependerá no tanto de la tecnología concreta empleada y del porcentaje de presencialidad aplicada, sino de los diseños pedagógicos, de la metodología, del uso eficiente de los recursos y, «sin duda», de la preparación y disposición del profesorado. Gómez Villamandos advierte, asimismo, de la necesaria transparencia con el estudiantado para que, en el momento de formalizar la matrícula, reciba información suficiente sobre los posibles escenarios colaborado con la Asociación Internacional de Universidades (IAU), por segundo año consecutivo, en la realización de la encuesta sobre Educación Superior e Investigación para el Desarrollo Sostenible que busca conocer el grado de implantación y conocimiento de la Agenda 2030 en las instituciones universitarias del mundo. En la encuesta «Universidades españolas y la Agenda 2030», la gran mayoría de las instituciones españolas (más del 85%) aseguran que ya cuentan con personal dedicado a tiempo completo y con un Manuel Castells, presidieron el pasado jueves la reunión del Observatorio de Becas y Ayudas al Estudio y Rendimiento Académico en la que presentaron el borrador del Real Decreto de Umbrales que establece el régimen de becas para el curso 2020-2021. El texto, que ya ha pasado por los órganos consultivos previos, recoge las medidas anunciadas el pasado mes de mayo para la reforma del Sistema Estatal de Becas. La convocatoria del próximo curso contempla un aumento de la inversión del 22% respecto al año anterior (386 millones de euros) hasta alcanzar los 1.900 millones de presupuesto, según señalan ambos ministerios en un comunicado, en el que recuerdan que estas ayudas pasarán a depender de nuevo de criterios de renta y no de mérito académico, el umbral 1 de cuantía de la renta casi se equiparara al últimos expedientes del sexenio de transferencia de la convocatoria piloto del año 2018. En esta cuarta y última tanda se han evaluado 1.195 expedientes, de los que 528 son positivos y 667 son negativos. La mayoría –el 61,4%– correspondían al campo de la Ciencias de la Salud. El texto se ha llevado dos veces al Consejo de Ministros, la primera, en febrero de 2019, pero al disolverse las Cortes Generales por la convocatoria de elecciones generales, quedó parado. La segunda fue el pasado 4 de marzo, pero con la crisis de la COVID-19 se volvió a retrasar su tramitación en la Cámara baja. Durante el debate de las enmiendas en el Pleno de la Cámara baja, la ministra de Educación y Formación Profesional, Dña. Isabel Celaá, defendió su «oportunidad y necesidad» porque «aborda los principales retos del sistema educativo». Asimismo, criticó a quienes defienden el mantenimiento de la actual LOMCE porque, a su juicio, «da cobertura a la normativa de política de recortes en Educación». Pedro Duque y Dña. Carolina Darias, respectivamente, se reunieron el pasado 11 de junio con el presidente de Canarias, D. Ángel Víctor Torres, para valorar las opciones de España para albergar el Telescopio de Treinta Metros (Thirty Meter Telescope, TMT) en La Palma como alternativa a su ubicación inicial, en Hawái. Según informó el Departamento de Duque, el encuentro sirvió para programar las próximas reuniones con los miembros del consorcio del TMT, que fueron suspendidas por la pandemia, y se emplazaron a reforzar esta apuesta en el Consejo Rector del Instituto Astrofísico de Canarias (IAC), que se celebrará a mediados de julio.
