[Ecasig11] Report on SIG11 Meeting

Dear Members of SIG11,

during the ECM-Conference  in Rovinj we had a meeting of SIG11 and we
would like to inform you about the main points addressed in this meeting:

- We had to elect new SIG-officers: it was the wish of Leonid
(Dubrovinsky) to resign as a vice-chair. Yaroslav (up to now secretary
of SIG11) was ready to take over this function and Maxim Bykov was ready
to be the new secretary. So the newly elected SIG officers are:

Chair: Karen Friese (Jülich Centre for Neutron Science,
Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany)
Vice-Chair: Yaroslav Filinchuk (Universite Catholique de Louvain, Belgium)
Secretary: Maxim Bykov (Bayerisches Geoinstitut, Bayreuth, Germany)

- We also elected Michael Hanfland (ESRF, Grenoble, France) as programme
representative for the ECM-31 in Oviedo, Spain. In due time we will ask
for suggestions for keynote speakers and microsymposia from all of you
through the mailing list.

- The programme committee for ECM-30 met in Rovinj. The moment the MS
and Keynotes are agreed upon with the other SIGs, we will send the list
around.

- We decided to establish a poster prize of SIG11 for the next ECM
meeting. Most probably we already found a sponsor for it, but some final
details still have to be cleared. News to come!

- Due to problems with the hosting of the website (which we already had
finished) it will be necessary to redo some things. We would like to
thank Clemens Prescher and Nikolay Tumanov for all the work they did on
the website so far.

- The ECM in general was very well attended by the members of SIG11 and
there were 2 keynote lectures and 6 Microsymposia  related to the topics
of SIG11 so that  the SIG was very well represented. Thanks especially
to Yaroslav for his engagement as the representative of SIG11 in the
programme committee!

Last but not least, we would like to pay special thanks to Leonid who
has been working for the SIG so enthusiastically in the last years!
